Small gorillaFive better movies with actors from Jay and Silent Bob

A lot of talent was squandered in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Here are some movies you may not have seen that put it to better use.

Jason Lee

Mumford (1999)

I just want to state for the record that JASON LEE IS ALWAYS GOOD. He stole his scenes in Chasing Amy and Almost Famous, and was equally effective in this delightful little comedy from writer/director Lawrence Kasdan, playing a computer genius billionaire whose money hasn't made him any less of a neurotic nerd. This guy is just fun to watch.

Chris Rock

Nurse Betty (2000)

Chris Rock appears as a novice hitman in this black comedy. And manages to hold his own opposite Morgan Freeman, proving that he's more than a comedian, he's an actor. I just wish he'd get some more good parts.

Matt Damon

Titan A.E. (2000)

Matt Damon voiced the lead in this gorgeously-animated science fiction movie. Your standard boy-in-a-bleak-post-apocalyptic-future-must-save-humanity story, but it's pretty good. Too bad it didn't do better at the box office.

Ali Larter

Final Destination (2000)

Before Ali Larter appeared in two of my leasts favorite movies of 2001 (Jay & Silent Bob and American Outlaws), she starred as a high school student trying to cheat death in this moderately spooky horror flick.

Mark Hamill

Star Wars (1977)

I was going to throw in Corvette Summer for Mark Hamill, but decided instead to go with this little science fiction movie he starred in back in the 70s. I know it's kind of obscure, but you can probably find it on video somewhere.
